A SHORT VIDEO SERIES

As part of Shtetl Berlin’s project ‘Undzer Shtetl, Unsere Stadt’, we are proud to share these short spotlight videos made for social media, highlighting a few of the many people in our community working with Jewish and Yiddish culture in diverse and meaningful ways.

The project was conceived and produced by Craig Judelman, with assistance from Sasha Lurje, Patrick Farrell, Elisabeth Mann and the whole Shtetl Team. Graphics by Christian Dawid, videos by Magdalena Hutter and social media strategy and management by Adrian Schnug. The project ‘Undzer Shtetl, Unsere Stadt’ is made possible by the support of the Berliner Senat Department of Culture and Cohesion

Chasan Jalda Rebling grew up with the songs of her mother, the legendary Yiddish singer Lin Jaldati (1912-1988). Jalda created the first international Yiddish festival in Berlin; discovered early Ashkenazi Jewish music; co-created one of the first egalitarian synagogues in Berlin; & is director of studies at the European Academy for Jewish Liturgy in London.
