


Jalda Rebling

She graduated from the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in 1972.
Jalda grew up with the Yiddish songs of her mother Lin Jaldati, a shoah surviver. 
Together they performed between 1978 and 1988 between Jerushalayim and New York.
Jalda created the Tage der Jiddischen Kultur 1987-1997 an UNESCO project.
She cocreated Jiddisches LiedTheater in the Hackesche Hoftheater Berlin 1993 – 2006.
1989 she started her research in early German Jewish Music. Together with specialists of Early Music she created two projects Jews in Germany 1250 – 1750 and Jews in the Middle Ages from Sepharad and Ashkenas. 
The first Klangwerkstatt in Cologne in 2008 has been the beginning of a creative collaboration with Maria Jonas z´´l  and a few years later with Bassem Hawar.  3 musicians from three different cultures look at their sources to come together with all their differences. 
Since 1979 she created many interfaith projects.  
After the fall of the Berlin wall, Jalda has been part oft he creative Jewish artists group Meshulash in Berlin and active member oft he first Egalitiarien Syangogue in Berlin Oranienburger Strasse. She participated in the first Bet Deborah congress 1999 in Berlin.
She produced 11 LPs and CDs with Yiddish, Sepahrdic and Jewish Medeaval poetry and songs.
She is member of the Cantors Assembley and the Ohalah rabbis and cantors conference.
