TANTS-HOYZ! A Yiddish Dance Ball

Tantshoyz: A joyful Yiddish dance ball where live klezmer, clear guidance, and open hearts turn tradition into movement.

Dance, Joy, and Community

Tantshoyz is Berlin’s Yiddish dance ball – an open, inclusive celebration of culture, music, and movement. It’s a space where people of all backgrounds and abilities come together to dance, connect, and experience the vibrant spirit of Yiddish tradition in the heart of Berlin.

Clear Instruction by Experienced Yiddish Dance Leaders

Each Tantshoyz is guided by experienced Yiddish dance leaders who offer clear, friendly instruction so everyone can join in with confidence. The steps are taught on the spot, making it easy for beginners while still engaging and fun for experienced dancers. The focus is on participation and shared energy – not perfection.

Live Klezmer Energy

The dances are powered by Shtetl Berlin’s What-a-Band, a dynamic klezmer ensemble that keeps the floor moving with lively, soulful music. Their rhythms and melodies create an atmosphere that’s impossible to resist – full of laughter, sweat, and spontaneous joy.

Tradition Made Alive

Rooted in the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe, Yiddish dance was once central to weddings, celebrations, and community life. Tantshoyz revives this living tradition for a new generation, transforming it into a space where everyone can connect through movement and music.

Everyone Is Welcome

Tantshoyz is a community dance – open to all, free from discrimination, and full of warmth and inclusion. You don’t need a partner or prior experience – just bring comfortable shoes, an open heart, and the spirit to dance together.

A Celebration of Culture and Togetherness

More than just a dance evening, Tantshoyz is a celebration of Yiddish culture and Berlin’s diversity – a night where tradition, creativity, and community come together in joyful motion.
