Bring a dish that tastes like home and a story about where your family comes from. Over dinner, we'll trace our families' journeys on a large shared map, from Riga to Buenos Aires to Neukölln, and sing songs from the places they went. Musicians, bring your instruments, and everyone is invited to bring food and drink that reflects their family's journey.
After dinner, we'll sing Hasidic nigunim together, exploring the music of the regions most Ashkenazi families come from, from Romania to Lithuania. Nigunim are wordless melodies that are easy to learn and made for singing in a group.
Everyone is welcome. Free entry, donations welcome.
