Zingeray! A Yiddish Sing-along

Zingeray is Berlin’s own Yiddish sing-along – a welcoming community event where everyone is invited to raise their voices together in song.

A Community Singing Experience

Zingeray is Berlin’s very own Yiddish sing-along – a joyful, inclusive event where everyone is welcome to lift their voices and share in the power of communal singing. No stage, no spotlight, no prerequisites: just voices coming together to celebrate the richness of Yiddish culture.

The Setting: Kreuzberg’s Galerie ZeitZone

The event takes place at Galerie ZeitZone, located in the heart of Kreuzberg, one of Berlin’s most diverse and dynamic neighborhoods. The gallery’s warm and intimate atmosphere provides the perfect backdrop for an evening of music, community, and cultural connection.

The Repertoire: From Classics to Hidden Gems

Each Zingeray is built around a curated Yiddish songbook. Participants sing everything from beloved popular hits to rare treasures of the repertoire. For Jewish holidays and special occasions, themed editions of the songbook add new layers of meaning and discovery. To make participation easy, lyrics are projected on a screen, and the full songbook is available for download.

Easy to Join – No Knowledge Required

You don’t need to know Yiddish to take part. The event is designed to be accessible to everyone, whether you’re a fluent speaker, a beginner, or simply curious about the culture. The music and the community make it easy to join in from the very first song.

Led by Artists, Shaped by the Community

Each evening is led by Sasha Lurje, internationally acclaimed Yiddish singer, or occasionally by visiting guest artists. Participants are encouraged to request songs and help shape the evening’s flow, making every Zingeray a unique and interactive experience.

More Than Music

Zingeray is not just about singing – it is about building a community space, celebrating Jewish minority languages, and connecting tradition to the present through shared creativity. In the heart of Kreuzberg, it has become a meeting place where voices, stories, and cultures come together.
