Melting Pot Dinner #2 Shabes Potluck + Poetry and Art

We’ll kick things off at 19:30, sit down together around 20:00 for a Shabes potluck dinner featuring our homemade tsholent and kugel, and then settle in for Yiddish poetry by Katerina Kuznetsova, whose stunning debut collection Glozperl (Glass Bead) — illustrated by Arndt Beck and published by Olniansky Tekst in Sweden — has already been anthologized, translated into three languages, and set to music by multiple artists. Her lyrical poems move with unexpected directness between the lightness of spring afternoons and life’s darkest moments, and we can’t wait to hear them live. Arndt’s Yiddish-inspired artwork will also be on display throughout the evening.

After the reading, around 21:00, we’ll close out the night with a nigunim jam — all instruments and musical styles welcome, seriously, bring whatever you’ve got.
